چکیده

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a that mainly controls the and rotational mobility of knee joint, its surface covered by synovial membrane with large number blood vessels. In general, nutritional supply to from many capillaries in adjacent synovium. However, statistical studies distributed ACL are insufficient. this study, we examined cross-sectional histological images femoral attachment (femoral level), middle level tendon (middle tibial (tibial level) statistically analyzed capillary distribution among three levels. ACLs 10 cadavers were divided into 5 equal sections, 4mm-thick paraffin sections made at level, then hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining performed. area each transverse section was measured using Image-J 1.51n (U. S. National Institutes Health, Bethesda, MD, USA). Fiber bundles relatively small sparse became larger denser toward level. Many synovium fiber bundle also penetrated deeply between bundles. particular, densely rather than another two Indeed, most abundant significantly small, however, abundant. Therefore, when injured, reconstruction preservation ligamentous remnant may be clinically useful for remodeling grafted tendon.

Topography of the femoral attachment of the posterior cruciate ligament.

BACKGROUND The success of posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction has varied. The objective of this study was to determine quantitatively and qualitatively the topography and osseous landmarks of the femoral footprints of the anterolateral and posteromedial bundles of the posterior cruciate ligament in order to enhance repair. METHODS Twenty unpaired knees from twenty human cadavers were e...

The Role of Fibers in the Femoral Attachment of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament in Resisting Tibial Displacement

PURPOSE The purpose was to clarify the load-bearing functions of the fibers of the femoral anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) attachment in resisting tibial anterior drawer and rotation. METHODS A sequential cutting study was performed on 8 fresh-frozen human knees. The femoral attachment of the ACL was divided into a central area that had dense fibers inserting directly into the femur and ante...

The 45-Degree Arthroscope Improves Visualization of the Femoral Attachment of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament

Background: Exposure of the insertion site of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is important for appropriate tunnel placement in ACL reconstruction surgery. However, observing the femoral ACL insertion site via the standard anterolateral portal is sometimes difficult. In this study, we compared views of the femoral ACL insertion site between 30-degree and the 45-degree arthroscopes. Methods:...

A Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor Arising from Femoral Attachment of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament

The localized type of tenosynovial giant cell tumor usually occurs on the palmar side of fingers and toes. Tenosynovial giant cell tumors of the tendon sheath are rarely intra-articular. We report a giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath arising from femoral attachment of the anterior cruciate ligament and its treatment with arthroscopy in a 28-year-old man.

The attachments of the anteromedial and posterolateral fibre bundles of the anterior cruciate ligament: Part 1: tibial attachment.

The tibial attachments of the individual anteromedial (AM) and posterolateral (PL) fibre bundles and the entire attachment of the anterior cruciate ligament are described, relating them to consistent bony landmarks; 55 fresh-frozen specimens were measured. The fibre bundles were separated and excised at their attachments and their peripheries marked with a pen. High-resolution scaled digital ph...
